Dry, itchy skin??

Your skin feels dry and the first thing you do is reach for lotion. Have you ever thought that maybe the “soap” you bathe with, could be causing dry skin?

Years ago my parents came to visit us here in Colorado. While unpacking, my dad proceeded to line up his bar soap and shampoo bottles in the bathroom.  I pretty much insisted that he NOT use his bath products while visiting, for one reason and one reason only: Shaklee’s bath products do not leave soap scum in your tub/shower area, so I hadn’t had soap scum in any of my bathrooms since switching to Shaklee’s bath products and I sure didn’t want it now! 😉 He agreed and used Shaklee’s shampoo, conditioner and their shower gel (which is soap-free) during their visit. Nothing was said while they were here, but…..a couple days after returning home, my dad called me. He told me he never realized how dried out his soap had him feeling till he experienced just the opposite while visiting me. Now here’s the funny thing…..we live in SUPER DRY Colorado and he was returning to HIGH HUMIDITY Virginia! 😉 Kind of backwards…. wouldn’t you say?! Anyway, he said there was absolutely no way he could go back to using the soap he had at home.  I said, “That’s okay, Mom places a Shaklee order every month, just have her add those products onto her next order.” He said, “You don’t understand….I JUST bought a HUGE pack of my bars of soap from Sam’s Club right before coming out to see you.” I said, “Come one Dad…so what….just donate the package of bars to your local shelter. They’ll be more than happy to take them off your hands!” He loved the idea and did just that!  And from then on, he happily used solely Shaklee’s bath products!  (Yes, he switched to our shampoo & conditioner, too!) P.S.  Shaklee has a cleansing BAR as well, for those who prefer it!

So….the next time you have dry and/or irritated skin…..you might want to consider the “source”, instead of just grabbing lotion.
