My kids were 3 and 7, (daughter being the oldest) when we all started using Shaklee’s vitamins. And I’ll never forget when my daughter was about 16, she had been missing her vitamins on a more regular basis, for about two months, just because I didn’t “hound” her about them anymore. One day she was in a lot of menstrual pain, i.e. severe cramping, etc. and it frightened her to the point she thought something was REALLY wrong and that I needed to bring her to a doctor.
I always thought that people just get clumsier as they get older, but I was at a health seminar a few years ago and the doctor explained it in a new light! It’s not that people get clumsier as they age, they just lose the ability to react fast enough to catch themselves when they stumble, causing them to actually fall which can lead to a broken hip, etc. This can be devastating for people who have a fear of falling especially those who have osteoporosis.
A quality protein is essential for every cell in your body, for optimal health and prevention of disease. Plus, if your body is healing from anything…. whether it be surgery, a broken bone, stitches, etc., the very best thing you can do for yourself is up your intake of a quality protein….2-3 a day is known to really speed up the healing process! But a TRULY quality & safe protein supplement can be hard to find.
A few years ago I attended a health & wellness seminar in which one of the speakers, who was a registered nurse, shared some news regarding C-Section babies not getting enough good bacterial flora from their mother, due to not going through the birth canal. She continued to explain how this lack of bacterial flora is being linked to a number of health issues such as allergies, asthma, eczema, obesity, celiac disease and food allergies. And she also mentioned that some medical facilities are looking into giving newborn C-section babies a probiotic after birth, to help bring up the levels of good bacteria in their gut.
I was about 13 years old, and my sisters (twins) would have been about 9. My family lived in a high rise, called Tensa Terrace (Army housing) in Fort Myer, VA. It was about a week before Christmas and our aunt was visiting from Germany. One evening, we mentioned the residents were having a Christmas Door Decoration contest. Our aunt, Hannelore, who has always been extremely crafty, was excited and asked when it was being held. To her surprise, we told her the judging was taking place early the very next morning . Now mind you, this conversation happened about 7:00 in the evening and we hadn’t even considered being in the contest so our door was completely undecorated at that moment.
I had heard for some time now that if a person has allergies or sensitivities to certain foods, it can be helped and even reversed by replenishing their gut (lower intestine) with plenty of quality good bacteria in the form of a probiotic. There was a woman who was lactose intolerant for years who happened to start on Shaklee’s Vitalizer (which includes their probiotic, called Optiflora). She took it faithfully every day and about a year later she discovered she was no longer lactose intolerant! I thought this was amazing and wondered if this could be an easy answer to some people’s food sensitivities?!
We’ve all experienced it….you go to bed and you can just tell you’re not going to be able to go to sleep and/or be able to sleep deep due to one reason or another. So most of us have resorted to over-the-counter sleep aids, i.e. Tylenol PM. But what you might also have noticed is that when its time to wake up, it takes a while for you to shake that “sleepy” feeling, to actually feel like you’re finally awake. I found a product that DOES NOT have you feeling that way when its time to wake up!!
Have you ever been woke up from a sound sleep to the excruciating pain of a charlie horse?! Ugh… then there’s that panic to fly out of bed and, as much as you know it’s going to hurt, force your heel down to the floor to make that pain stop!! Man, although my last charlie horse was probably 22 years ago, I will never forget what that’s like, because it was happening to me about 3 times a week!
